1. About These Terms
These Terms & Conditions govern the use of the SENSS Electrical & Security Solutions Ltd website and the provision of our electrical, security, installation, maintenance, inspection, monitoring and related services.
By using our website or engaging SENSS Electrical & Security Solutions Ltd for services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
SENSS Electrical & Security Solutions Ltd reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions when necessary. The latest version will be published on this website.
2. About SENSS
SENSS Electrical & Security Solutions Ltd provides electrical and security products and services to residential and commercial customers.
Our services may include electrical installation and maintenance, CCTV systems, intruder alarms, access control, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, EV charging, alarm monitoring and other related services.
3. Quotations
All quotations are based on the information available to us at the time of preparing the quotation.
Unless otherwise stated, quotations are subject to:
- Site conditions being as described or reasonably expected.
- Access being available to the areas where work is required.
- No significant hidden defects or additional works being identified.
- The availability of required equipment and materials.
A quotation may need to be revised if additional work, materials or equipment are required due to circumstances that could not reasonably have been identified before work commenced.
Unless otherwise stated, quotations are valid for the period specified on the quotation.
4. Acceptance of Work
A quotation or proposal becomes accepted when the customer confirms approval of the work, makes a required payment or otherwise instructs SENSS to proceed.
Once work has been approved, cancellation may be subject to reasonable costs already incurred by SENSS.
5. Installation and Services
SENSS will carry out agreed works with reasonable care and skill.
The scope of work will be based on the quotation, specification or agreed requirements.
Where existing equipment or systems are being retained, SENSS cannot guarantee the performance or compatibility of equipment that is outside our control.
Additional work identified during installation or servicing will normally be discussed with the customer before being undertaken, unless immediate action is reasonably necessary for safety.
6. Electrical Services
Electrical work will be carried out in accordance with applicable legislation, regulations, standards and industry requirements relevant to the work being undertaken.
Where inspection, testing or certification is included within the agreed scope, the appropriate documentation will be provided following completion of the relevant work.
Customers must provide reasonable access to electrical installations, equipment and relevant areas where required.
7. Security and Alarm Systems
Security systems, including intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems, are designed according to the requirements of the property and the equipment selected.
System performance may depend on factors including internet connectivity, power supply, network equipment, third-party software, mobile applications and manufacturer services.
SENSS cannot guarantee that any security system will prevent burglary, theft, vandalism, fire or other loss.
Customers are responsible for using their systems appropriately and following any operating instructions provided.
8. Alarm Monitoring
Where alarm monitoring is provided, the monitoring and response arrangements will depend on the service agreed with the customer.
Alarm activations may result in contact with nominated keyholders or other agreed responses. Contact with emergency services is subject to the applicable monitoring arrangements, verification procedures and relevant requirements.
SENSS cannot guarantee that emergency services will attend every alarm activation.
Customers are responsible for keeping keyholder, contact and other relevant information accurate and up to date.
9. CCTV and Remote Access
Where CCTV systems include remote viewing, performance depends on the customer’s internet connection, network equipment, mobile device, manufacturer software and other third-party services.
SENSS will assist with configuration where this forms part of the agreed service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted remote access where the issue is caused by a third-party service or connection outside our control.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that their use of CCTV complies with applicable privacy and data protection requirements.
10. Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting Services
Fire alarm and emergency lighting systems require appropriate inspection, testing and maintenance to help ensure reliable operation.
SENSS will carry out agreed services in accordance with the applicable requirements relevant to the system and premises.
Maintenance or installation of a fire alarm or emergency lighting system does not by itself guarantee compliance with every fire safety obligation applicable to a property.
The customer remains responsible for their wider fire safety responsibilities and for ensuring that appropriate fire risk assessments and procedures are maintained where required.
11. Maintenance and Servicing
Maintenance contracts will be provided according to the service schedule agreed with the customer.
Routine maintenance does not necessarily cover damage caused by misuse, vandalism, accidental damage, unauthorised alterations, power surges, environmental conditions, third-party equipment or other circumstances outside normal system operation.
Additional repairs or replacement parts may be charged separately where they are not included within the maintenance agreement.
12. Emergency Call-Outs
Where emergency call-out services are available, response times may vary depending on location, availability, traffic, the nature of the fault and other circumstances.
Emergency call-outs may be subject to separate charges unless covered by an existing agreement.
13. Customer Responsibilities
Customers must:
- Provide safe and reasonable access to the premises.
- Provide accurate information about the property and existing systems.
- Ensure suitable access to electricity, water, communications or other services where required.
- Obtain any necessary permissions for the work.
- Inform SENSS of known hazards or relevant site conditions.
- Follow operating and maintenance instructions provided for installed equipment.
Additional costs resulting from restricted access, inaccurate information or conditions outside the agreed scope may be charged to the customer.
14. Equipment and Materials
Equipment and materials supplied by SENSS remain subject to the manufacturer’s applicable warranty and terms.
Manufacturer warranties may differ depending on the product.
Where a product becomes unavailable, SENSS may offer a suitable alternative, subject to customer approval.
15. Payment
Payment terms will be stated on the quotation, invoice or service agreement.
Unless otherwise agreed, invoices must be paid within the stated payment period.
SENSS reserves the right to suspend services or further work where invoices remain unpaid.
The customer may be responsible for reasonable costs incurred in recovering overdue payments, where permitted by law.
16. Cancellation
Customers should contact SENSS as soon as possible if they need to cancel or rearrange an appointment.
Cancellation charges may apply where SENSS has already incurred costs, ordered materials or allocated resources specifically for the agreed work.
Consumer customers may have additional cancellation rights under applicable UK consumer protection legislation.
17. Warranty and Defects
SENSS will address defects in workmanship that are reported within the applicable warranty period, subject to the terms of the quotation or service agreement.
The warranty does not normally cover damage or faults caused by:
- Misuse or neglect.
- Accidental or malicious damage.
- Unauthorised modifications.
- Third-party repairs or alterations.
- Power or network issues outside our control.
- Normal wear and tear.
- Failure to follow operating instructions.
Manufacturer warranties may apply separately to supplied equipment.
18. Limitation of Liability
SENSS will not be responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to applicable law, SENSS will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of business, loss of profits or loss of opportunity arising from the use of our services.
19. Events Outside Our Control
SENSS will not be liable for delays or failure to perform services caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
These may include severe weather, flooding, fire, power failure, network failure, equipment shortages, supplier delays, industrial disputes, government restrictions or other unforeseen events.
